Terms & Conditions — We Move You by Bellwoods Removals

Last updated: June 2026

Plain English summary: We're a family business that values its reputation. These terms are here to be fair to both parties. If something goes wrong, talk to us first — we'll always try to sort it out directly.

1 Our company

We Move You is a trading name of Bellwoods Removals & Storage, a family business based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, trading since 1977.

These Terms & Conditions apply to all removal, piano, storage and ancillary services provided by us through this website (wemoveyou.com) or by telephone.

2 Quotations

All quotations are based on the information you provide. We reserve the right to revise a quote if the actual volume, access conditions or job complexity differ materially from what was described.

A quote is valid for 30 days from the date issued. After that, prices may change, particularly during peak periods (spring/summer and end of month).

Quotations do not include:

  • Parking charges, congestion charges, or access permits unless agreed in writing
  • Dismantling or reassembly of items not mentioned at quotation stage
  • Access via crane, hoist or specialist equipment unless specified

3 Booking & payment

A booking is confirmed once we have accepted your enquiry and you have accepted our quote, either verbally or in writing.

Payment terms

  • Payment is due on the day of the move unless otherwise agreed in writing
  • We accept bank transfer, cash, and card payment
  • For storage, payment is due monthly in advance
  • Invoices unpaid after 14 days may incur a late payment charge

4 Cancellation & rescheduling

  • More than 7 days' notice: No charge
  • 3–7 days' notice: 25% of the quoted price
  • Less than 48 hours' notice: 50% of the quoted price
  • Same-day cancellation or no-show: Full quoted price may be charged to cover crew costs and lost bookings

We understand that completions are often delayed. If your move date shifts due to circumstances beyond your control (such as a chain delay), we will always do our best to accommodate you without penalty, subject to availability.

5 On the day

You are responsible for ensuring:

  • Adequate parking or access for our vehicle(s) at both addresses
  • All items are ready to be moved unless a packing service has been agreed
  • Fragile or high-value items are pointed out to the crew before loading
  • Any items not to be moved are clearly separated and labelled
  • Keys and access codes for the destination are available when needed

If access or parking causes significant delay beyond our control, we reserve the right to charge a waiting time rate.

6 Liability & insurance

We carry public liability insurance and goods-in-transit insurance. In the event of damage caused by our crew's negligence, we will handle claims fairly and promptly.

Limits of liability

  • We are not liable for damage to items that were packed by the customer, unless the damage was caused by our handling
  • We are not liable for pre-existing damage or items of exceptional value not declared at quotation stage
  • We are not liable for damage caused by access that was not reasonably foreseeable (e.g. excessively narrow staircases, low ceilings)
  • Our liability for any single item is limited to its current market value, not replacement cost, unless additional cover has been arranged

Any damage must be reported to us within 48 hours of delivery. Claims reported later may not be accepted.

If you have items of significant value (antiques, artwork, high-value electronics), please tell us at quotation stage so we can advise appropriately.

7 Storage

Storage is provided in our dry, brick-built warehouse in Huddersfield. We take reasonable steps to protect stored goods but cannot guarantee against circumstances beyond our control (fire, flood, theft).

  • We recommend customers hold their own contents insurance for stored items
  • Access to stored goods during the storage period requires prior arrangement
  • We reserve the right to apply a lien on goods if outstanding invoices remain unpaid after 30 days
  • A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to arrange collection of stored goods

8 Piano moves

Piano moves involve specialist equipment and crew. You are responsible for ensuring we have been given accurate information about the piano (type, size, weight if known) and access conditions at both addresses.

We reserve the right to decline to attempt a piano move that presents an unreasonable risk of damage to the instrument or property, or injury to our crew, if conditions at the property differ materially from those described at quotation stage. In such cases, we will discuss options with you.

For piano disposal, you confirm that the instrument is yours to dispose of and that no third party has a claim on it.

9 Disputes

If you have a complaint about any aspect of our service, please contact us in the first instance:

Phone: 01484 538917

We will acknowledge your complaint within 2 working days and aim to resolve it within 14 days. If we cannot reach agreement, we may refer to the NFRA's dispute resolution process.

10 Governing law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes that cannot be resolved by agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

These terms do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable legislation.
