We Move You team removing a piano in West Yorkshire
West Yorkshire

Old piano in the way? We'll take it.

Not every piano gets a second life — and an unplayable one can sit in the corner for years taking up space. When you're ready for it gone, we collect it, break it down and clear it responsibly. You get your room back, simple as that.

Three steps to a clear room

1

Tell us about it

Type of piano, where it lives in the house, and your postcode. A photo or two helps. We'll send a clear price.

2

We come and collect

On the agreed day our team gets it out of the room and dismantles it where needed — protecting your floors and walls as we go.

3

Gone for good

We take every piece away and clear it responsibly. You're left with an empty corner and a bit more space to breathe.

Why use a piano specialist to dispose of one?

Because they don't go quietly

A piano you no longer want is the same heavy, awkward, cast-iron beast as one you're keeping — it just has nowhere nice to go. Trying to drag it out yourself is how floors get gouged and backs get hurt. We treat a disposal with the same care as a move, right up to the moment it leaves.

  • The same specialist crew and kit we use for piano moves
  • Floors, walls and doorframes protected on the way out
  • Timber and metal separated for recycling where we can
  • Uprights, baby grands and grands all taken

Disposal Questions

The honest answers

Can't I just give my old piano away?
You can try, but there's a glut of free pianos and very few takers — most aren't worth restoring and even charities and schools rarely want them now. If yours hasn't found a home, we'll clear it for you cleanly.
Why won't a skip company take a piano?
Pianos are deceptively heavy, full of cast iron and steel, and awkward to break down safely — so most skip and general-waste firms turn them away. We have the kit and the know-how to handle them properly.
Do I need to move the piano before you arrive?
Not at all. Leave it exactly where it is. Our team will get it out of the room, dismantle it where needed and remove every piece — you don't lift a thing.
What happens to the piano afterwards?
We clear pianos responsibly, separating out the timber, cast iron and metal so as much as possible is recycled rather than sent straight to landfill.
Do you charge to take a piano away?
There's a fee, because disposal is real work — lifting, dismantling, transport and responsible clearance. It depends on the piano and the access, so tell us the details and we'll give you a clear price up front.
